- Why are my DTF transfers not sticking to the fabric?
- Answer:
- Heat Press: If you don’t use the correct pressing application, this could be the reason the DTF is not sticking to the fabric. These are hot peel transfers, so overheating can cause several issues, including not sticking to the fabric. Use the correct time, temperature, and pressure for your film and fabric. You are responsible for doing your own testing. Please refer to our pressing instructions for the recommendations from our heat presses.
- Fabric: Pre-press garments and be mindful of fabric types (some are trickier). You will need to adjust your pressing settings depending on the type of fabric that you are pressing. For example, 100% polyester is always pressed at a lower temperature than 100% cotton. We always recommend using pre-shrunk fabrics.
- Why are my DTF prints fading after washing?
- Answer:
- Pressing incorrectly: pressing a DTF transfer incorrectly, particularly by using too much heat or too little pressure, can definitely cause color fading on the final print, as improper heat application can lead to the ink not adhering properly to the fabric, resulting in a dull or washed-out appearance.
- Washing: Harsh detergents, hot water, and rough washing can all cause fading. Be gentle! (Cold wash, mild detergent, turn garments inside out).
- Fabric: Some fabrics are more prone to fading. Synthetics often hold color better than natural fibers.
